I did not get a whole heap down last week. Still struggling through chapter 4 of fake marriage!au (though I do seem to have made something of a break through) and given the intensity of my week (returning from the work trip on Wednesday, driving out of town for a funeral Friday and then back off on another work trip on Saturday) I think I did pretty good.

Also touched all my projects and posted a new chapter of Would You Do Me the Honour.

Now that I'm nearing the end of the second month of 2020's 'write everyday' process, and have only really missed 2 day (both of which I missed from just flat-out blanking on it) I think it might be time to amp things up and challenge myself a little more. While I've been so busy I have had a whole lot of days where I can bust out a couple of sentences max. This is okay and kind of the whole point of setting the bar so low that I can't fail. I'm still winning, but I'm also starting to want to make more progress than I can with this limited number of words.

Prior to this past NaNoWriMo I did what I called "endurance training" where at the start of October I was making myself write a small, set number of words each day which slowly increased. Once I was hitting the 1k or so mark it became quite hard, but I definitely found that building up slowly really helped.

I don't need to build up as high as I would for November, but I'm thinking about setting some slightly bigger challenges for myself in March. I don't know quite what that's going to look like yet. Possibly setting myself a small goal each week that increases through the month (100 word first week, 200 the second etc) or week-on-week-off, or setting a goal of 100+ words per day for a month. I'll think on it.
